Varsity baseball next year?

I'll be a Senior this fall & because of injuries, I haven't been able to play high school baseball. However, I usually play 2nd base & have been practicing almost every day & I even go to a local baseball clinic. I can play anywhere in the infield, but I prefer to play 2nd next year. The problem is, the returning Varsity players are very good. Do you think if I try out, that they might put me as a back up or what ? Cause idk...I'm a good 2nd baseman/shortstop, but it seems as if the returning players already have their spots on the team locked up. Any advice is appreciated.
