I can not think of the name of this movie Help!!!?

I can not think of the name of this movie help me... It was about a African American male who joined the service.. He kept on getting into fights and had anger issues.. He was sent to a consular on base... Through the movie he received help from the therapist and figured out his anger stemmed from his childhood of being in foster care where he was molested. At the end he marries the girl of his dreams and I believe he grows up to be a writer.. This was a true story and his name was in the title.. This is driving me nuts... What was the name of the movie????
