Covering over / re-colouring floorboards stained in danish oil..?

We have pine floor boards which have been stained in danish oil about 4 years ago, they have an orangey tone and we would like to recolour them to something much darker. Is there any way we can re-colour or stain the boards without having to go the the extremes of sanding and stripping them first? Thanks in advance!
